Welcome to Knoydart Cottage. The cottage was built in 1988 for Ann and Michael Prior. The original design was created by Magnus Gunnarsson an Icelandic architect who has made his home on Skye.
We took over the cottage renovated it and hope we have provided a comfortable holiday home. In order to make our guests stay as pleasurable as possible we appreciate any suggestions as to how we might improve facilities, any utensils you feel are missing from the kitchen or information needed etc.
Please vacate the property promptly on the day of departure by 10am when the housekeeper will arrive to prepare the cottage for the next guests. We hope to see you before you leave but if this is not possible please leave the key in the door.

TV is via satellite. Use the Samsung remote to turn the TV on and from then on use the satellite box controller. The picture takes a minute or so to load up. Use the Samsung remote for the volume. The bins are emptied alternately so please check the calendar in the information folder within the cottage. We recycle plastic bottles, cans, paper and cardboard, everything else goes in the general waste. The bins are behind the cottage to the left of the front door, the grey bin is for general waste and the blue one is for recyclables. There are glass recycling centres at An Crubh and behind the garage in Broadford where you may leave glass as the blue recycling bin will not be emptied if it contains glass and the council may issue fines.
Beach Access:
Access to the shore is on foot only. Turn right at the road then take the first left down the private drive. This is a private bay so please be respectful. You may launch your own kayaks, canoes, paddle boards etc from here if you’d like, but you will have to carry them down from the cottage.

Garden
Recently the deer have taken a liking to our garden so please check your shoes before entering the cottage.
Scottish Woodland has a project clearing Skye of rhododendrons. Unfortunately, they left us with quite a mess. We are working to complete the job they started. Please stay in the lawned area until we are sure the rough area is completely safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
