The Isle of Skye “Eilean a` Cheo`” recently voted fourth best island in the world by National Geographic, is an island of fascinating heritage and rich vibrant culture. Skye is acknowledged as having some of the best scenery in Scotland and Sleat provides many of the best views, from the iconic lighthouse at Isle Ornsay to the Cullin Ridge seen from Tarscavaig.
Knoydart Cottage is located on the Sleat peninsula, an area known as the “Garden of Skye”. It is a fifteen minute drive from the ferry at Armadale, a twenty five minute drive from the Skye Bridge and lies nestled into the hillside approximately 300 yards from the shore.
Isle Ornsay the nearest hamlet is about 1 mile from the cottage. Here you will find the hotel, a bar, which hosts numerous musical events throughout the year, an Art Gallery a Tweed Shop, and the Factors Office where you may arrange to go fly fishing or simply indulge in a Whisky tasting session.
The town of Broadford is a 15 minute drive away, where you will find the Co-op, local cafes, restaurants and shops to explore.
