COVID-19 Update – March 21

The safety of our guests and staff is a paramount for us and we are reviewing our response to the COVID-19 pandemic on a daily basis. Please check this page for regular updates.

When travel is permitted and it is safe to do so within our area, we will re-open with certain changes to the way we operate.

We encourage and facilitate social distancing as best we can. Knoydart Cottage is self-contained and should you choose to do so, you can avoid having contact with anyone else.

Prior to your arrival at Knoydart Cottage, the space will have been prepared in accordance with the guidance from the World Health Organisation and the Association of Scottish Self Caterers. The entire cottage will have been cleaned and then disinfected. A checklist of what has been cleaned will be available for you in the cottage.

We have removed a number of items from the cottage to minimise the possibility of transmission, we apologise for any inconvenience, but this is for your safety. We have removed:

  • DVD’s + CD’s
  • Books
  • Shampoo + Conditioner, Shower Gel
  • Our Welcome Pack – you can find all information from our Welcome Pack on our blog pages
  • Our Welcome basket – we apologise for this inconvenience, click here for a list of local stores

We will need your assistance and co-operation to ensure everyone’s safety and to take a few actions before and after you arrive, eg not travelling if you are symptomatic and placing your bedding and linen in black bin liners before you depart. We will provide further details nearer your arrival.

We will ask guests to please not check-in before 4pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure could guests please check out by 10am at the latest, so that we have the time necessary to complete the cleaning and turn around of the cottage.

If you do show symptoms of COVID before or during your travel to Knoydart Cottage, could you please, where possible, not make or continue your journey. Should you need to cancel at the last minute due to COVID we would rather provide you with a full refund than disrupt the holiday plans of other guests coming to Knoydart Cottage.

In the unlikely event that any of our guests do become unwell during their stay and have to self-isolate in the cottage, we reserve the right to cancel bookings that follow. These guests would of course receive a full refund and we would endeavour, but cannot guarantee, to assist guests with finding alternative local accommodation.

Should guests have to self-isolate at Knoydart we will do all that we reasonably can to assist, however, we shall need to charge you for the additional time that you spend at the cottage at the appropriate weekly rate.
